Ham1 News:

Hello Friends!
HAM1 just finished recording our 4th album, "Let's Go On and On and On with HAM1."
We are currently negotiating support and release of this album for sometime this summer.
At the bottom of this page you will find a pre-release review of the new one, by James M. McHugh.  We recorded this one with Jason Robira at The Bakery in Athens.  Both Jason and the mastering engineer, Joel Hatstat did excellent work on the album.  We are proud of the results!
Below you'll find some new "band stats," and some old reviews of our last three, followed by the review of "Let's Go On and On and On with HAM1."
REGARDS!
JIM

REVIEWS
HAM1 – (self-titled debut)
Flagpole Magazine’s Critics #1 album of 2005:
Ham1 is the album Athens used to be known for. It’s pop, clearly homegrown, but precisely, if quirkily assembled. Droll. Adventurous. Peculiar. Successful in both its instrumental and vocal tracks. Jim Willingham and his band should be proud. Athens should be proud.

The Captain’s Table – Orange Twin Records (2007)
Pitchfork - 6.5
It is fitting that this band should find a home on the record label with ties to the Elephant 6 collective as the relaxed, rickety sound of this album fits nicely alongside such lynchpin bands as Neutral Milk Hotel and The Olivia Tremor Control. What separates Ham1 from those groups, and very much for the better, is their more uncomplicated approach to songwriting, eschewing fractured psychedelia for a more rustic, reverb-soaked sound that cuts a wide swath through the history of American music.” - The (Phill)er

The Underground Stream – Infinity Cat Records (2009)
It is precisely this balance of comfortable atmospheric fugues, lingering melodies and a noisy take on traditional songwriting that give the record so much character. 5 STARS!” - Chad Radford, Creative Loafing (Atlanta)
